History of New Year’s Resolutions
New Year’s as we know it has been influenced by numerous different cultures throughout time. It all began 4,000 years ago with the Babylonians! However, it wasn’t until 46 B.C. that the Romans created a New Year’s most similar to ours. Julius Caesar redesigned the calendar and declared that January 1st would be the first day of the new year. Fast forward to 1740, and we have the tradition of making resolutions to better ourselves and our communities.
