Ty's 2020 Ones to Watch
How the hell is 2019 basically over!? Silver Lining: with a new year comes new music, so I’m pumped. Throughout the year, there have been so many amazing new artists that have stood out to me in country music. I am amped to see what these artists will do in 2020!
Candi Carpenter
Candi has taken country by storm - from releasing her debut work with Brandi Carlile as her producer to Dolly Parton taking the young starlet under her wing, Candi has had a big year. There’s no denying that she’s bringing something extremely unique to the genre, and I’m excited to see where this is headed.
Gone West
I’ve had my eye on Gone West since they showed up, and they never disappoint. With Colbie Caillat and fiance Justin Young in the band, each member of this foursome compliments the next. I’m already impressed with the release of their debut EP - and those harmonies.
JuJu Rossi
JuJu Rossi just released her first single about a month ago and is already garnering attention for her empowering, feminist song. JuJu’s spunky personality and clever lyrics make her stand out amongst other artists in the pop-country sector.
Kendal Conrad
Kendal recently released a couple of singles and is working towards pulling together her first EP. Kendal’s sound is filled with powerhouse vocals and unapologetic lyrics, paired with pop-country tracks making everything that she puts out a jam. I can’t wait to hear more!
Chance McKinney
Chance has been on my radar for a couple of years. After he won the CMT Music City Madness Competition, his songwriting has been a standout factor to me. Chance has defined his sound as industrialized country, staying true to traditional vocals and guitar riffs blended with pop backbeats. Chance certainly stands out amidst the ever-changing sound of country.
Ingrid Andress
Ingrid tore through 2019 with a roar, and now she’s getting ready to launch the full-scale release of her debut album! Her lyrics and tone shine through in her music, where she showcases the raw emotion that she puts into her music. Very few artists can match her ability to connect through music.
Seaforth
Every song that these guys release is a jam. From their debut EP to their collaboration with Mitchell Tenpenny, they put out amazing music time after time. Their pop-country infused songs are undeniably good and seeing a live show will teach you how much fun this duo really is!
Kylie Morgan
When I first heard Kylie’s voice, I was immediately enchanted. As her lyrics rang truer and truer, the connection and X-factor of this rising star stood out to me above much of the class of newcomers in country. Check out “Boys Girl” but get ready for “I Break Things!”
Levi Hummon
If you’ve been paying close attention, you’re already familiar with the son of Songwriting Hall-of-Famer Marcus… Levi carries on his family legacy of being able to write incredibly catchy tunes while adding his identifiable vocals to the songs that will be on repeat in your head (and car)
